Lamb leads Sportsman winners at FMP NHRA Arizona Nationals
In addition to the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing series action at the FMP NHRA Arizona Nationals, six winners were also crowned in Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition at Firebird Motorsports Park.
Tim Seymour, winner of the 2020 SPORTSnationals event in Las Vegas, scored a second victory in Super Stock when he took out ninth-ranked Evan Kowalski in the final. Seymour posted a 9.208 on his 9.20 dial for the win. [video]
Six-time world champ Justin Lamb is off to a fast start in 2026 with a divisional win in Pomona, followed by the Arizona Nationals Stock title. Lamb turned on the win light after Leo Glasbrenner fouled by -.004-second. [video]
Doug Johnson collected his second NHRA Wally after a thrilling double-breakout win over Tanner Theobald in the Super Comp final. After a pair of competitive lights, Johnson won, 8.888 to 8.880. [video]
After a lengthy drought, Val Torres Jr. won his 11th national event when he topped a red-lighting Chris Gabbard in the Super Gas final. [video]
After a number of close calls, Rob Mendenhall pulled through for his first win in Right Trailers Top Sportsman. Mendenhall ran 6.969 on a 6.93 dial to defeat Will Yakimetz in the final. [video]
A consistent winner in big-money E.T. bracket events, Cooper Chun cut a perfect light in the final of Right Trailers Top Dragster but didn’t need it after Dylan Hough fouled by .003-second. [video]
