Saturday News and Notes from the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals
PRO STOCK CALLOUT ROUND 1

The GETTRX Pro Stock Allstar Callout kicked off the second day of qualifying at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. The first round of the specialty race does not count as qualifying runs for the eight drivers in the field, but the large payout from GETTRX makes it worth chasing.
Matt Hartford and Greg Stanfield opened the race within a race, and the defending Callout champion remained the one standing. Hartford 's 6.575 at 208.97 defeated Greg's 6.591 at 208.52.
Aaron Stanfield bested Eric Latino on a holeshot. Aaron left with a .027 reaction time and made a 6.611 at 208.78 mph pass. Meanwhile, Latino left the starting line with a .078 reaction time, and went on to record a 6.603 at 207.85 mph run. Earlier, Latino made a bold move by calling out Stanfield, and he paid a price for it.
The second-to-last pair was Dallas Glenn and Jeg Coughlin Jr. - the battle of JEGS and Summit Racing Equipment, as Glenn had put it during the Callout ceremony. Glenn lived up to his nickname of "Double-Oh Dallas" and was .008 on the Christmas Tree. Glenn then bested Coughlin's 6.597 at 208.78 with a 6.558 at 208.39.
The final pair delivered the drama that everyone was hoping for. Erica Enders defeated Greg Anderson on a holeshot. Enders left the starting line with a .022 while Anderson clocked a .057 reaction time. Enders then went to make a pass of 6.564 at 210.01 mph while Anderson crossed the finish line stripe with a 6.543 at 208.26 mph.
Glenn, being the quickest of the first four-round winners, earned the right to pick first and stated that the two young guns will have to go after it, meaning Aaron. This then left Enders and Hartford to duke it out in the semifinals.
TOP FUEL Q3

Shawn Reed opened Saturday’s nitro session with a great 3.751, the quickest pass of the weekend to take the provisional No. 1 spot, but the real drama came in the other lane where Tony Schumacher broke a rear-end. Unfortunately, that’s not the first time it’s happened to the Rick Ware team and it once again results in a lengthy clean-up that gave the Norwalk fans plenty of time to get the track’s famed $3 ice cream.
Once action resumed, so did the dramatic improvement in elapsed times. Billy Torrence was the next driver to tackle the right lane and made a solid 3.772-second run.
Spencer Massey joined the list of drivers I the 3.7s with a 3.793 in his RAD Torque Systems entry.
The top spot changed hands one pair later when Leah Pruett drove to a 3.731 which crew chief Neal Strasbaugh called “about what we thought it would run”, adding, “Not a chance,” when asked if it would hold up for the duration of the session.
Maddi Gordon didn’t claim the top spot, but she did re-set the Norwalk speed record with a 339.79 run, re-setting Millican’s day-old record.
MISSION #2Fast2Tasty Challenge
Shawn Langdon continued his domination of the 2026 season with a 3.696 at 339.70 mph to easily take out Tony Stewart’s otherwise competitive 3.751.
Langdon will face teammate Doug Kalitta in the final round after the reigning world champ defeated Antron Brown, 3.751 to a coasting 8.045. This will be the seventh Mission #2Fast2Tasty win for the Kalitta team.
FUNNY CAR Q3

After a couple of tire-smoking early shut offs, the Norwalk Funny Car field began to take shape when J.R. Todd and Bobby Bode ran 3.957 and 3.968 in the second pair. Bode’s run is significant because it gave us 15 cars in the three second zone with a bump spot of 4.13 by Jeff Arend. There has never been an all-three second field but if Arend can produce on in the final round of qualifying, history will be made.
Jack Beckman improved with a 3.916 while Chad Green ran 3.939, which is a good run, but is only good for the No. 9 spot at the moment.
Del Worsham did not improve on yesterday’s 3.934 with a 3.961, but his consistency is admirable, and the sort of thing that leads to round wins on race day.
Alexis DeJoria moved into the lead thanks to a very impressive 3.886 at 330.31 mph. DeJoria qualified No. 3 in Epping and No. 2 in Bristol, the two most recent events on the tour.
Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge
Austin Prock appeared to be back as the two-time and reigning champ defeated Matt Hagan, and did so with the best run of the event so far, a 3.963. Prock also set a new track speed record at 337.41 mph.
Prock will have his work cut out for him in the final against Ron Capps, who used a 3.891 to stop Daniel Wilkerson. The race was close for a while, but Capps, pulled ahead after Wilkerson spun the tires.
PRO STOCK Q3

Kramer did not get down the track last night, so he was one of the first cars down the track, along with Kenny Delco. Kramer did not improve his spot on the ladder by running a 6.607, but was allowed to collect more data for race day. Delco, on the other hand, did climb to no. 13, with a 6.632.
Troy Coughlin Jr. made his best run of the weekend when he went 6.600 at 208.81 mph and moved up to the no. 12 spot. In the right lane, Stephen Bell did not improve with his 6.618 and will go into the final qualifying session from the bottom of the ladder - the no. 14 position.
Even though it’s just qualifying, it’s always fun when father and son lineup against one another. Eric and Matt Latino took to the starting line, and you can put another checkmark in the son wins column. Eric went red and drove to the center line. Meanwhile, Matt drove to a 6.593 at 208.49.
Then a pair of Greg’s lined up - Greg Anderson and Greg Stanfield. Both laid down the quickest runs of the session. Anderson with a 6.565 and Stanfield with a 6.591.
GETTRX PRO STOCK CALLOUT SEMIFINALS
Erica Enders and Matt Hartford were the first pair out in the GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout semifinals. Hartford won the round on a holeshot with a .008 reaction time, and a 6.584 at 208.71 mph rip. Enders was .031 on the Christmas Tree and recorded a 6.575 at 209.33 mph pass. This will be Hartford’s third consecutive Callout final round.
The final pair featured Dallas Glenn, who defeated Aaron Stanfield by a nine-thousandths of a second, with a 6.583. Stanfield laid down a 6.603. Glenn will have lane choice over Hartford for the $40,000 that’s up for grabs in the final round.
PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE Q3

Marc Ingwersen made his best run of the weekend, a 7.036, but it will not improve his spot on the ladder going into the final round of qualifying, where he currently sits at no. 13.
Chase Van Sant didn’t have much luck in Q3 as he ran into trouble right off the starting line. In the left lane, Jianna Evaristo made a clean run from A to B, but won’t improve her qualifying position as of now.
John Hall moved up from provisional no. 7 to no. 6 spot with his 6.834. Joey Gladstone, who was in the right lane, did not improve his provisional no. 2, but nonetheless was quick with a 6.832.
MISSION #2Fast2Tasty Challenge
Angie Smith, the Potomac Nationals winner, and Richard Gadson, the Thunder Valley Nationals winner, were the first pair out for the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge. Gadson moved first and never looked back. He bested Smith by three hundredths of a second when he rode to a 6.790 at 198.26 mph pass. Smith recorded a 6.800 at 200.62 - the fastest pass of the weekend so far.
Next, Gaige Herrera defeated Steve Johnson with a 6.780 to his 6.903. Herrera, who also clocked the quickest E.T. of the session, will have lane choice over his Vance & Hines teammate Gadson.
TOP FUEL Q4

Scott Farley made another qualifying attempt and his Scott Rods entry made it cleanly off the starting line but a few dropped cylinders resulted in an early shut off.
Tony Schumacher came back from his broken rear end earlier in the day to make his best run of the weekend with a 3.741 but it wasn’t cheap as the eight-time world champ backfired a supercharger before the finish line.
Clay Millican made another solid run with a 3.784 in his special edition Summit Racing Equipment dragster while Bristol winner Antron Brown made his best run of the weekend with a 3.825.
He’s not in the top half of the field, but Will Smith will be a factor on race day after a 3.788 in the Blue Bird Turf dragster.
Maddi Gordon raised a few eyebrows when she moved into the No. 3 spot with a 3.734, even as crew chief Rob Flynn claims the team is “still new and still learning.” Billy Torrence wasn’t far behind at 3.788.
The flood of low 3.7-second runs continues with a 3.722 from Josh Hart followed by a 3.734 from Tony Stewart and a solid 3.746 by Shawn Reed.
Mission #Fast2Tasty Final round
Shawn Langdon continues to do no wrong in Top Fuel as he left first in the final of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and drove to the win with a 3.695 after teammate Doug Kalitta lit the tires. Langdon also swept all 12 available qualifying points by running low elapsed time in each of the four rounds.
FUNNY CAR Q4

The long awaited all-three second Funny Car field didn’t materialize in Norwalk but not without a challenge as Jeff Arend drove Jim Dunn’s car to a 4.07 to set the bump spot.
Aftewrwards, there was a slew of three-second runs including a 3.983 by Blake Alexander, a 3.965 from Spencer Hyde, and a 3.930 out of Dave Richards’ Blue Bird entry.
J.R. Todd jumped into the fray with a 3.916 with Daniel Wilkerson in the mix at 3.953. Jack Beckman (3.935), Jordan Vandergriff (3.911), Cruz Pedregon (3.917) also made solid tune-up runs ahead of tomorrow’s opening round.
Two of the best runs of the day came from Alexis DeJoria who backed up her earlier 3.88 with a 3.900 while Matt Hagan is also consistent at 3.917.
Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge
Suddenly, Austin Prock’s dismal start to the 2026 season seems a distant memory as the two-time world champion claimed the bonus cash in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge with a very impressive 3.785 to outpace Ron Capps’ 3.901. Prock also took over the No. 1 qualifying spot for the first time since joining Bob Tasca’s team.
PRO STOCK Q4

You could say both of the Coughlins were ready for round four of qualifying. Both Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Troy Coughlin Jr. left the starting line with .00-reaction times. Jeg Jr. was .001 on the Christmas Tree and went on to make a 6.587 at 209.33 mph pass. Meanwhile, his nephew, Troy Jr., laid down a 6.592 at 208.78 rip. Jeg made his best pass of the weekend but it only landed him in the no. 9 spot.
Cody Anderson moved all the way up to the no. 4 qualifying position from no. 9 with a 6.574, which was the second quickest qualifying pass of the day.
Aaron Stanfield and Matt Latino both made respectable runs, but their 6.591 and 6.585 won’t move them up on the ladder. Stanfield will face his teammate Erica Enders; meanwhile, Latino will square off against Deric Kramer.
Greg Anderson will remain the no. 1 qualifier, even though he lowered his E.T. from Q3. Greg ran a 6.591 at 208.20 mph and will pick up bonus points, along with Dallas Glenn and Matt Hartford.
PRO STOCK CALLOUT FINAL
In the final round of the GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout, Dallas Glenn won the $40,000 payday when Matt Hartford went red by -.048. Glenn ran the second-quickest E.T. of the weekend with a 6.556 at 207.98 and will start race day from the second spot.
“I always struggle in these races, and I don’t know why, but I always trust the car and the crew chiefs,” Glenn admitted at the top end. He also just admitted that he is driving a new car this weekend.
PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE Q4
Steve Johnson made his best run of the weekend with a 6.853 and will move up from the no. 9 to the no. 8 spot.
Hometown racer Marc Ingwersen ran his best E.T. of the weekend when he recorded a 6.976. However, it will not improve his qualifying position from no. 12.
Reigning event champion John Hall will not improve his qualifying position and will start race day from the no. 6 spot on the ladder, which will pair him up with Brayden Davis.
Joey Gladstone will pick up bonus points in this round for Matt Smith on the MSR Denso/Outlaw Beer Buell.
MISSION #2Fast2Tasty Challenge
It was Vance & Hines teammates Richard Gadson and Gaige Herrera in the final round. Herrera double-bulbed Gadson, who later said it was friendly competition, but red-lit by -.007. He went on to put down low E.T. of the event with a 6.768 and claim his 33rd no. 1 qualifier award.
Meanwhile, Gadson earned his second #2Fast2Tasty win of the season, where he rode to a 6.850 at 175.75. Gadson drifted towards the left wall and admitted that he lifted around the finish line in fear of hitting the wall.
