The 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series has reached the penultimate round with this weekend’s Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge. It is possible that one or more NHRA Mission Foods Pro titles and several NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Sportsman titles could be decided at this event.

In Top Fuel, Shawn Langdon has a hammerlock on the Top Fuel title with a strong but not insurmountable 139-point lead over teammate Doug Kalitta. Langdon has won eight of the first 18 events of the season and has a sterling 48-10 record in elimination rounds. Langdon has also won three of the first four events in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs to help boost his points total.

Eight-time world champion Tony Schumacher, who has enjoyed considerable success in Las Vegas, will participate in his 600th career event this weekend. Schumacher is still seeking his first win of the season but has four prior wins in Las Vegas.

The battle for the Funny Car title is much more competitive with several drivers still within striking distance of leader Matt Hagan, who is seeking a fifth title. Hagan leads Jordan Vandergriff by 98 points, while J.R. Todd, Austin Prock, and Jack Beckman are within striking distance but would need to make up ground this weekend in order to have a chance.

The Funny Car class has been wide open this season with seven different winners in the first 18 events.

Just 14 points separate the top two drivers in Pro Stock with defending champ Dallas Glenn holding a slim margin over Greg Stanfield; Matt Hartford, Greg Anderson, and Troy Coughlin Jr., who are each 99 points or less from the lead.

Two-weeks ago in Dallas, Stanfield suffered a rare round-one loss, while Glenn won his fifth race of the season to tighten the points chase.

The battle for the Pro Stock Motorcycle title is essentially a three-horse race between leader and defending champ Richard Gadson, his teammate Gaige Herrera, and Matt Smith. Gadson leads Herrera by 58 points, while six-time champ Smith is 98 points back.

The event also features the JBS Equipment NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by Elite Motorsports, a full roster of NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series categories, as well as the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment E.T. Series World Championship presented by Hoosier.
